PTKiGK Rybnik operator being integrated to PCC Rail group
In the late August 2007 the PCC Rail announced, that it became a holder of the major block of shares of Przedsiębiorstwo Transportu Kolejowego i Gospodarki Kamieniem (PTKiGK) Rybnik open-access operator. After more then a year elapsed, the integration of PTKiGK Rybnik to PCC Rail group was completed by changing its trade name to PCC Rail Rybnik. Officially this act executed on 8 October 2008, when the new trade name has been registered at the registration court.
The list of the PCC Rail group members extended to five licensed railway operators: besides the home PCC Rail company and PCC Rail Rybnik as mentioned before, there are PCC Spedkol, PCC Rail Coaltran and PCC Kolchem companies following.
It means for the rolling-stock of former PTKiGK, that the original colour scheme will be abandoned and the rolling-stock is going to be painted to the blue-orange PCC group livery. Although former PTKiGK colours of red and creamy combination has been applied since 2004 so far, almost the most of the company’s tractive vehicles has been already wearing this livery.
The photo documents the look of the T448p-070 locomotive of PTKiGK Rybnik, which its ‚old coating‘ may survive for a long time yet, because it had been applied within the locomotive‘s major overhaul in PTK Tabkol, finished on 12 October 2007. The picture was taken on 11 July 2008 at Chałupki station.
