Special Steam Train at Mladějov na Moravě 2004

On 9 October 2004 Spolek přátel železnic (the Friends of Railway Club) organized for photographers a ride of a special steam train on the former industrial narrow-gauge railway at Mladějov na Moravě. Since the 20s of 20th century this railway with total length 10,5 km connected shale mines near Hřebeč with fireclay plant in Mladějov. Now only a part of this railway is in condition to be operated.
The special train was hauled by the biggest and the most powerful locomotive of this railway - steam locomotive No. 5, which was biult by locomotive works Krauss Linz in 1929. This locomotive was operated there till the end of regular operation of the line in 1991. Therefore it was (together with local locomotive No. 1) the last steam locomotive in regular service in the Czech Republic. Today it serves for occasionaly haulage of nostalgic trains.
