Broad-gauge Line

The article describes the construction, development and contemporaray traffic of ŽSR (Slovak Railways) broad-gauge line Maťovce frontier - Haniska pri Košiciach. The line was put into service in 1966, the electrification ways completed in 1978. In railway traffic are used double locomotives Class 125.8 (former E 469.5), made in Škoda Plzeň. The main task of this railway line is to transport iron ore from the Ukraine to Slovakia and Czech republic.
