The Line Rybník - Lipno nad Vltavou from 1500 V DC to 25 kV 50 Hz AC
The electric operation with 1 500 V DC system on the Rybník - Lipno nad Vltavou line in Southern Bohemia was terminated with a small celebration on Friday, October 17, 2003 nearly to the day after 92 service years the first train went to Loučovice on October 18, 1911. The termination of DC system is connected with further electrification period of České Budějovice - Horní Dvořiště line. Within this framework new trolley lines for 25 kV 50 Hz AC on the whole local line, new transforming station at Lipno nad Vltavou and new contact station at Rybnik will be arranged. The line and station signalling system including lighting of all stops will be refurbished. The optic telecommunication line will be prolonged to Lipno nad Vltavou as an air duct adjusted on trolley line poles. The 25 kV 50 Hz AC system will be third feed array on this line: the 1 200 V DC system has been used from 1911 till 1956. The line was a "testing laboratory" for various trolley line systems for local lines in the past.
