Locomotives Class 350 ZSSK in Timetable 2003/2004
Double-systems (3 kV DC and 25 kV 50 Hz AC) electric locomotives class 350 (former ES 499.0; so-called "gorilla") was manufactured in Škoda Plzeň in the year 1973 (the prototype) in amount of 20 pieces. After partition of Czechoslovak State Railways (ČSD) these locomotives was allocated to Slovak Railways (ŽSR, now ZSSK) - depot Bratislava. These locomotives are operated on EuroCity service with the speed till 160 km/h. In the year 2004 ten of these locomotives are operated namely in Czech Republic, but run also to the Hungary and naturally in Slovakia. Other two locomotives are operated on InterCity and fast trains from Bratislava to Košice. But in next year these locos will be partly substituted by new high-speed tilting EMUs of the class 680 "PENDOLINO". These units will be operated on EuroCity service between Berlin and Vienna.
