THROUGH DEFLECTION TO OPAVA

The town of Opava is attached to the railway network by the means of Opava východ main station (track 316) and Opava západ main station (track 310). The preparation for the elecrification of the track 316 (Ostrava Svinov - Opava východ) began in 2005 and it proceeded in two phases - from Ostrava Svinov to Háj ve Slezsku (14th May 2005 - 20th October 2005) and from Háj ve Slezsku through Štítina to Opava východ (15th March 2006 - 15th November 2006). Personal railway transport was substituted by bus transport. Freight railway transport was transferred through the track from Olomouc through Krnov to Opava and used motor engines.
