Vlára line in years 2007 and 2008
The article describes changes which have taken place in the railway operation on so-called "Vlára railway" between Brno in the Czech Republic and Trenčianská Teplá in Slovakia. Both freight and passenger services are described. On 1 December 2007 the ČD Cargo - freight service subsidiary of České dráhy - was established. That's why the locomotives dedicated to freight operation were put into the new company. On the Vlára line all ČD Cargo freight services now are ensured by class 742. Locomotives class 754 have stayed in České dráhy, so we can't see these locomotives with regular freight trains from Veselí nad Moravou to Brno. Some passenger trains are now hauled by 754 (see diagrams below the article), but a lot of them are operated with motor coaches, especially traditional class 742, but also 850 and 854.
