Ružomberok - Korytnica
This narrow-gauge railway (gauge 760 mm) connected the town of Ružomberok with Korytnica spa. The operation of the
line was started on the 5th June 1908. First the line was operated by private Košice – Bohumín Railway company (KBD),
since 1st February 1921 by the Czechoslovakian State Railways (ČSD). Both passenger and freight transport was
operated by the railway. Initially there were three steam locomotives of the type 51, which were manufactured in
locomotive works of Budapest in 1908. These locomotives were marked with numbers 1, 2 & 3. But later (also these)
locomotives were passed on between various narrow-gauge railways. The steam operation was closed in 1959. In 1958
new diesel locomotives T47.018 – 021 came to this line. But in 1966 freight operation and on the 28th September 1974
also the passenger operation was closed.
