Due to lack of funds Czech (ČD) and Slovak (ZSSK) state railway operators have not been able to buy new multi-system locomotives. That’s why both operators decided to change boogies between several DC electric locomotives class 162 (maximum speed 140 km/h) and double-system electric locomotives class 363 (maximum speed 120 km/h). In this way the operators got more double-system locomotives with maximum speed 140 km/h. A list of the reconstructed locomotives is presented in the table.
